SMART ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY TIP 1

Tip 1: DIRECT YOUR SALES

Direct your sales

SMART BUSINESS, DIRECT YOUR SALES

What you sell depends mainly on your direction. Which products you prefer to sell, depends on the margin, the ease of preparation and the workload for the kitchen or bar. Direct your sales by re-order your menu, categories, labelling, marketing and more. Jamezz helps you in this series of miniblogs by sharing tips.

  1. Make a top 10 of products that you like selling most. Don't think directly of the best sellers, but think mainly of the products that bring in the most revenue.
  2. Where are these products on the menu? But above all: where should they be, to direct sales?

Like the supermarket works with sales at eye level, Jamezz directs sales through:

Main screen
Categories
Designation
Colour
Pictures
Timing
Marketing

In this blog we will discuss the first two points.

Direct your sales through the main screen and categories

All Jamezz products lead first to a main screen. Think of this as the first contact moment where you direct your sales. Do you have Chef's Specialties today? Create a separate button and category, named: 'Chef's Favorites'. Then place a professional photo or video in the banner and send the guest directly in the right direction. You will sell that sandwich anyway, but you want to generate more revenue. Therefore, make the products and dishes you like to sell extra visible and attractive.

TURN YOUR MENU AROUND

In the morning, it's time for a luxurious omelette, a fresh orange juice and a large latte macchiato. Probably your croissant or cheese sandwich is at the top. But in addition to directing your sales through the main screen, order is key. Research shows that when you turn the menu over, the top product sells 700% (!!) better than before. Tip: play with this option. Put that expensive bottle of cava on top and finish with a house wine Chardonnay. Do you work with coffee and tea? Put your Special Latte at the top of the menu. If someone really wants a black coffee, the guest will choose that anyway. The key is to trigger people to order your favourite selling products.

Next week we will share a blog on "Why the right naming generates more sales". And we will discuss the use of frames and colours.

See you then!
